Israeli Likud Minister Yuval Steinitz will tell the United States, Russia and other world powers Israel will not tolerate Iranian forces near its border, the Jerusalem Times reported on Tuesday. Steinitz made the remark as Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, flew to New York to address the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday.
Amid accusations by the United States Russia is conducting airstrikes on “moderate” opposition to the government of Bashar al-Assad, a Kremlin spokesman hinted all the mercenaries in Syria are “immoderate.” “I don’t think anybody has yet explained what moderate opposition is, and Putin demonstrated quite active interest in the issue and asked in which way the moderate opposition was different from the immoderate opposition,” Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, told Rossiya 1 TV.
ISIS has thrived under American sponsorship, Syrian President Bashar Assad claimed on Sunday in an interview with an Iranian TV station. Assad sharply criticized the coalition fighting against ISIS, saying that since it began its attacks on the terror group, ISIS has overrun additional territory and drawn more recruits.
Hundreds of Palestinians came out into the streets in the West Bank city of Hebron to protest during the “Day of Rage”. The demonstration in Hebron was a response to the ongoing violence and turbulence in Jerusalem at Al Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites in occupied Palestine; FNA reported.
Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) Ammar Hakim welcomed Russia’s participation in the fight against ISIS terrorism in Syria. Talking to Alsumeria News, Hakim expressed hope that tranquility could be established in the region.He also called for formation of an international fund for investment in the war on terror in Iraq.
Russian Defense Ministry released video from hitting ammunition depot of terrorists’ armed groups in the countryside of Idlib in Syria, Al-Alam News Network reports. According to Al-Alam News Network, the depot is near the “Ma’arrat Numan” near Idlib.
