A Palestinian teenager was kidnapped and killed early Wednesday, an act believed to have taken place in revenge for the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers, Israel’s army radio reported.
Police had been notified that a youth was “pulled into a vehicle and possibly kidnapped,” Micky Rosenfeld, an Israeli police spokesman said, adding that roadblocks were set up in search of suspects.
Palestinian residents said they had seen a teenager forced into an unidentified vehicle outside a supermarket in the Shoafat section on Wednesday, according to a Reuters photographer.
Later that morning, “police discovered a body in the Jerusalem forest and were looking to see if there was a connection between the missing youth and the body that was found,” Rosenfeld added.
