Dylan Davies, whose heroics featured as both a book and a recent broadcast on   US prime-time television, claims to have received a note threatening to harm   his family if he continued to insist that he had told the truth.

His book has already been withdrawn from by its publishers, Simon & Schuster,   while CBS’s 60 Minutes show has apologised to its viewers, following claims   that he was not even in the consulate on the night in question.

The Daily Beast website has now reported that on Friday, Mr Davies sent an   email to his publishers claiming that in the small hours of Sunday Nov 3, a   week after his appearance on CBS, he received a hand-delivered note to his   home address in south Wales. It allegedly said: “Stop talking now or your   wife and son will disappear.”

Mr Davies, who has reported the threat to police, and said that he has been   advised to leave home, added in the email: “Due to this threat I will not   discuss the book with anyone under any circumstances for the foreseeable   future, I am not prepared to put my family in danger. I stand by my story   however I understand that it continues to be rubbished, which I expected.”
